feb seems pretty early for regular decision scholarship day…that means they would be inviting candidates more than a month before they’ll receive their actual acceptances
maybe a current student/scholarship recipient can clear things up for us

The January scholarship day is for EA applicants, and oddly yes the Feb is for RD applicants. I have no idea how they get their stuff together like that.

The Robertson and Morehead both have weekends that go from Thursday afternoon to Sunday (at least if I remember right). It’s possible to get a scholarship and one of those (the Robertson or the Morehead) as well, but you have to pick between the two.

You won’t be finding out about scholarships until Scholarship Day has happened, so I wouldn’t be salivating near the mailbox just yet.

If you haven’t been invited to Scholarship Day yet, no worries, an invite could come, or you may get a scholarship without being invited to the day, or you may get a really nice financial aid package. UNC is blessedly generous when it comes to need aid/affordability.

Echoing cloying, yes the Morehead and Robertson do have their own weekends. The Morehead weekend is usually several weeks before the Robertson event. Because of sheer manpower needs some current Morehead Scholars have been asked in the past to assist in hosting/helping out with Robertson candidates over that weekend.

The Morehead weekend actually consists of a Saturday arrival and informal activities/casual dinner with current Moreheads etc. The real planned events begin on Sunday morning and the interviews, lunches with professors etc are on Monday and Tuesday. Notification of winners was at noon ET on Wednesday in the past.

I was really worried about this last year since I was OOS and did not get an invite to scholarship day… turns out I wound up being a finalist for both the Pogue and Robertson, and am at UNC on a full today. Don’t worry! UNC does give great fin aid from what I hear, and keep hunting down those outside scholarships, too. But don’t give up hope

thanks cloying and getouttabuffalo for your reassurance!

I got a scholarship without going to Scholarship Day. Don’t worry too much.
