<p>How come a large amount of small LAC’s in California have no track programs? Pepperdine has a beautiful track, just no program, surely schools like this can find funding somewhere.</p>
<p>Even SMU and Vanderbilt have dropped their men’s track programs. Pomona et al still have men’s track. It has to do with funding and Title IX. Karen</p>
<p>I’m surprised by that … in general small LACs tend to have MORE varisty sports than schools in major DI conferences. I’d guess if you look at lots of LACs many of them will have a track program. Does Pepperdine (DI in basketball at least, I do not know about other sports) have a “club” program for track … which may provide the college sports experience for which you are looking?</p>
