He’s tried to use his AirPods with noise cancelling on to listen to audiobooks, podcasts and music while flying. The noise of the airplane is too loud and he can’t hear.
My husband is hard of hearing. He doesn’t even try the entertainment system, I could buy the adapter for it if we can find a pair of noise cancelling headphones that really cancel the sound of the airplane.
The ATH-MX50 is a best seller studio monitor. Very neutral. Not boomy. Clean sound. They make various versions up and down your price point. But they also make noise canceling. I just prefer better sound. Noise canceling will effect the sound quality usually like midrange.
Your welcome. I have experience on this in the audio world. Not a fan of Bose. Last good thing they made were the 901 speakers. That was a long time ago.
I’ve been happy with my (quite old) Bose headphones, but my audio expert kid insists that Sennheiser is a better product. I find those too heavy, though.
Many years ago, in the days of buying hifi equipment and being an avid consumer of magazines on the subject, I thought the best advice I saw was - keep going up in price until you can’t hear the difference anymore. That’s the point at which your spend is optimized. (I fondly remember being in the stores where they would change the components to see how it all sounded to you until you found your sweet spot… now I feel old). I would tend to go for the same philosophy for headphones at best - when you personally can’t hear or don’t care about the difference, that’s fine. (I say at best for me, as I usually do not use my headphones solely for the sound but rather to watch things; others might just be listening to music and need better.)
All I know is that I need a pair of noise cancelling headphones right now as I’m waiting in the waiting area of a car dealership for an oil change and they have CNN blasting on the television. My earbuds are doing an ok job but I’m having to blast my music!!!
Yes. They can be plugged in or Bluetooth - you will need a dongle (or two) to connect to iPhone or iPad though. I needed 2 different dongles. One for each, because of course they’re different connectors.
Thank you. I wear hearing aids so can’t put earbuds in comfortably. I’ve just been reading closed caption on the movies but that gets old. I want them just for plane. But something not too big.
