Noitaraprep's method not helping?

Hi all,

I am taking the SAT in January. I tried out Noitaraprep’s CR method yesterday.

My scores drastically declined. I’m taking about going from about 4 wrong a CR section to about 7 wrong. Today I tried the method again, and I got 6 wrong. I think it’s too early to tell if I should continue with this method.

My previous strategy was to just read the passage fully and answer the questions by re-reading the line references. I knew it wasn’t the best strategy, so I tried out Noitaraprep’s method.

Should I continue using Noitaraprep’s method or should I revert to my method?

On a side note, sorry for the multiple threads. I have another thread in this same section asking for tips. I felt that this is a different issue, so I should create a new thread.

Maybe keep trying it for a few more practice tests, and if it still doesn’t work, go back to your old method?

I actually think the best strategy for CR is just to do as many practice tests as possible, regardless of how you read the passage. I never had a ‘method’ doing CR. I just did what you did, read the passage and then referenced the lines for specific questions, and I got an 800–so you definitely don’t need to use a ‘method’ to do well.

How much practice did you do? I have done about 9 practice tests so far (Not from Blue Book), and I’ve increased quite a bit (From 500’s to 600’s). I don’t know if I should continue with my old method or continue trying Noitaraprep’s method.

^ A lot.
Blue books, SAT QAS, Princeton review’s 11 test.

Try SAT II Lit test if you are running out of material.

^I would stay away from the PR tests. Just use tests from the College Board. Read the stickied threads for rationale if necessary.
