Going to NO next Saturday. DH is going to a conference while I intend the to eat my way through city. Keep those suggestions coming. So far we have a dinner reservation at Muriels (would love feedback on this). Planning on a solo lunch at Acme Oyster as I LOVE seafood. Thinking of a day in the area around the art museum. Definitely Cafe Du Monde is on the list. El Gato Negro?
I am also thinking of doing a plantation tour with a tour company.
Would love feedback. We didn’t choose hotel. Staying at the Sonesta in the French Quarter. I’ve been researching on TA. Will post when we return to add to OP’s list…

If anyone has a burning desire to have the charming company of an always very hungry college senior with them as they eat their way through NOLA, let me know :)

My H and I stay at either one of these hotels: Soniat House [New Orleans French Quarter Luxury Hotels - Soniat House ?Historic Luxury Boutique Hotels in New Orleans French Quarter](<a href=“Soniat House”>http://soniathouse.com/) and The Windsor Court [Windsor Court Hotel - A New Orleans Luxury Hotel | Windsor Court Hotel](http://www.windsorcourthotel.com/)

Soniat is in the French Quarter, but not in the center of it all. It’s very charming and romantic. The Windsor Court is a larger hotel that’s well appointed. It’s very close to the French Quarter. I don’t know if it’s still an option, but the afternoon tea at the Windsor Court was excellent.

My H had a business conference in NOLA every year until Katrina–then the group moved its conference to Las Vegas. We hadn’t been to the city for a long time and went for our anniversary two years ao. We had a great time–spent hours browsing art galleries and antique shops on Magazine Street and eating oysters. We also did a walking tour of the French Quarter (I believe it was through the National Park Service). Favorite restaurants–Commander’s Palace (brunch), Galatorie’s, Herbsaint, Brigstsen’s, and Pascal’s Manale-- great barbequed shrimp at (took a trolley to get there from the French Quarter).

Second the Windsor Court Hotel … the rooms were HUGE. Our room was truly the size of a small apartment. Best food in the country … Any diet goes out the window.
