@doschicos, the WOW is in reference to the fact that for some, the definition of “diversity” is very narrow.
Whenever I have watched many of the nominated films, I always feel bad, because I see how incredible the talent is among the nominees. It’s so hard to say one was really “the best.”
I tried to see many of the nominated films, but I wasn’t able to see many of the best actor films. In fact, I didn’t see any of them. But I do admit that I feel happy for Leo, based on the body of his work.
I spent the better part of the weekend in a chair in my D’s hospital room, sick with worry. Though I found I can actually doze a bit while sitting straight up in a hard “recliner,” I haven’t truly slept in days. However, I couldn’t miss the Oscars; I’ve really looked forward to watching the show. My apologies for typos or any poor expressions of my thoughts.
Sorry to hear about your crazy weekend, @Nrdsb4. Hope you can catch up on your sleep soon. I think you need a sick day for yourself. Some good sleep, good food, and put your feet up and watch some of those movies. I saw your other post and I’m glad your daughter is on the mend.
@doschicos, thanks very much. Yes, I need to sleep. I’m one of those weirdos: the more tired I get, the harder it is to settle down and sleep. I usually have to just run and run and then finally run out steam, falling into bed totally spent.
So glad Rylance won. He was very likable in his character in Bridge of Spies–vulnerable, pragmatic but not self-pitying. I didn’t see the movies of the other nominees.
