Non a-g courses

I took two courses that are not uc-approved. The first one was keyboarding. Even though typing is a skill to learn, it was a really simple and easy class that I took in 9th grade and therefore not very important. The second one however, was Issues to Ethnic studies which taught me many valuable things, even more so than some other classes that were uc-approved. Some people say you can put non-uc classes in the EC section but I think this is a bad idea. Where can I put this class? Would it be okay to explain it in part 4 of the personal statement?

If I were you, I would mention this class in part 4 of the UC statement (especially if my GPA was good even without the class).

i also took keyboarding. and the UC’s state that you should not list keyboarding as one of your classes because they simply don’t care about it. but ethnic studies is a different story, so you probably would want to talk about it in the additional information section.
