When you enter the financial aid estimator, it asks about parents marital status. Under the category “Single or Widowed” it says “This describes a situation where your natural parents were never married or your parent is widowed and remains single. This parent provides his or her information only.” That makes it sound like they will not require a non-custodial form if the parents were never married. It does not make that clear anywhere else on the website.

Has anyone had experience with this? Will they require the form under this situation even if the other parent is involved in the student’s life?
