Non-degree classes to raise GPA?

Not sure where the right place to post this cuz this is a … situation I’m not familiar with.

Basically I graduated Hunter’s College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Then I wanted to go into their graduate program in order to become a teacher for young kids in the future. However, they said my GPA is low so I am not accepted in the program. However, they said I can take classes to raise my GPA. However, they mentioned that since I graduated more than 1 year ago, my GPA starts at zero. So I’m incredibly confused and was wondering how many non-degree classes do I need in order to get the necessary GPA in order to enter their graduate program.

I have an appointment with an advisor on Monday but I’m hungry for answers right now so I thought I’d try my chances in posting here. I am very confused about what it’s like to be a non-degree students and I’ve been googling and the Hunter website doesn’t give me the information I want. Does any1 have experience with this?

You need to talk directly to the school about their requirements. It’s doubtful anyone on here knows the specifics.

Yeah, unfortunately you’re going to have to be patient. Only Hunter can tell you exactly how many classes you need to take to satisfy their requirements.
