anyone know the housing situation at NC state? We are learning towards going to ohio state business school, but might pay this AED until we make final decision as this is a close second right now and want to visit to see if it rises to 1. Thoughts from anyone welcomed…
Sure. Is there a housing crunch where we should pay the AED now to get in line for housing? Or can we accept closer to May 1 and not have housing situation get impacted with having less desirable housing options?
You dont need to pay the enrollment fee to secure a spot for housing. Housing is assigned randomly. My daughter was accepted EA and is committed. She has done her housing application and you can not choose a specific dorm unless you are applying to a learning community / village.
I agree. In any case, all freshmen dorms seem to look exactely alike. The only bonus of being admitted early is for orientation, which lasts almost two days and is mandatory. They propose different dates (June, July, August). Sign-up for orientation is by colleges but on a first come first serve basis and the portal has already opened. The longer you wait, the fewer dates will be available.
No- but it would be odd if it were not since they are clearly loading things into portals. That seems to be how it has worked for other decision rounds. I am not sure they announce other than on Instagram at 5ish to say “check your portals.” At least that is how it went for EA
I’m not sure anyone here know for sure, but historically (think I saw in past release dates on this site somewhere) if was the Friday before (which 3/29 is Good Friday, so likely a holiday for State, too) or it was the Friday before that. Which is today.
Well fingers crossed today is the day … I did try the portal hack but my daughters initials and last name come to only 6 characters, which at other schools has meant they append 2 random digits to it as the ID… so it didn’t work. It was Wednesday also and DD is in state.
So we’ll see what happens. At this point assuming it’s announced today waiting a few hours is fine. Her other top choice is Auburn … so the difference in cost is not insignificant!
