North East Thread

I might be one of the only ones who still hasn’t received my decison. Anyway, I’ve opened this thread up since I couldn’t find one for these students ~ hopefully I’m not alone here :-S.

Anyone awaiting their decision from the North East (MA and surrounding states), please post here. Also, if you’ve received your decision and wouldn’t mind posting it, here’s another place to do so (post when you received the acceptance/deferral also).

I’ll start…

Location: Mailed to Cambridge, MA (MIT’s Next House)

Status: Awaiting Decision

I know this is a random question, but zking786, did you go to PROMYS?

What’s PROMYS?

Oh… No I didn’t go there–sounds interesting, though. Why do you ask?

Oh sorry. ^^; I thought I recognized your sn!

Sudbury, MA; 20 miles from Boston; no decision.

You know, the tubes are supposed to take longer to process. The letters are supposed to be VERY quick, since they go through a sorting machine which promptly directs them. A person has to manually direct the tubes. And, due to the holiday season (and lots of gifts) the Boston PO must be pretty busy.

I mean, its only a 2 day delta between the deferrals and rejects. If we were going to be deferred, wouldn’t we have received the decision on tuesday or wednesday? One wouldn’t expect a long delay for letters, since they are processed expediently by a sorting system. Tubes and packages, on the other hand, might experience delays.

I’m in no way saying that we are likely to get accepted, just that we shouldn’t give up hope yet. Especially you, brian-mc! You have unique out-of-class pursuits and definitely stand a good chance.
