How hard is it for two sophomores to get an apartment in north village together? My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and may be engaged by then. Thanks

It would seem to be impossible, based on what you said in your post, unless you want a studio:

There’s a lot of non-university off-campus housing, which is cheaper and probably nicer. That might be a better bet.

We could be considered in a domestic partnership. And a studio wouldn’t be out of the question. There the north apartments on campus as well but those are a bit more pricey. Apartments off campus are very expensive if you want a decent one

The North Apartments are ridiculously expensive (my DS lives there), and you would have roommates. It would be something like $1000/month each.

You would have to look into what the school means by “domestic partnership”, I suspect this dates back to before Massachusetts legalized same-sex marriage, but maybe the school has a different interpretation that would let you qualify.

A one bedroom apartment or studio off campus will be far cheaper than living in North Apartments, where you would be living with other people and sharing the kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc.

There is a great local bus system, and since students can ride for free, I don’t see the point in spending a lot more money just to live right on campus. A 10-20 minute bus ride each day could save you thousands of dollars in just one semester probably.

I know I don’t want to live in the north apartments. I was looking into north village. I’ve looked at a few other complexes off campus too. There seems to be a few good choices
