The southhhhh! Haha, but why is no one considering Florida the South?..cause last time I checked we are as south as it gets. Plus if you actually live here you know its very southern but I guess if you’ve only been down here on vacation running around on the beaches then you’re right that part of FL lacks the southern tendencies except an occasional accent.

depends on the part of florida. northern florida is the south, southern florida is its own little region.

^I was about to say that precise thing. :p

I know there’s a lot of Kentucky love on this page of this thread just by looking at screennames, and I gotta say I’m somewhat in love with Taryn Durham of Big Break Sandals Resort and she’s from Glasgow, Kentucky (I say somewhat because she’s not the hottest girl I’ve ever seen but her accent and pretty good looks drew me in. It’s important to point out that I’m not usually drawn in by Kentuckian accents.).

^There you go, we have a little something for everyone

Neither. :-)

^^^^ Central small town Florida is a third culture. The South without the history of slavery, basically.

^^^Well Carling Coffing from Ohio is my favorite on Big Break Sandals Resort, so…sorry Taryn.

^It’s alright, want some tea?

^^^actually FL was one of the last areas to give up slavery& during the civil rights…well lets just say FL wasn’t so big on intergration

^^Some swe-it tay?

Not funny lol.

^I’m just making fun of your accent. :)

Hey it’s not that bad

aw really?

My friends say my accent shows when I say the words “accent”, “pen”, and “oil”

oh…and I cut the ing’s off of some words…

I’m goin’ runnin’

oh…and I say oil in two different ways…? [idk y]

@Jai: Maybe, but since the main important things all didn’t happen there during the Civil War/Civil Rights Movement, it isn’t a big part of the state’s heritage. Kids in FL learn about Spanish gold seekers and cracker cowboys, not race riots and civil war battles.

^I learned all about the history of New Jersey and its Dutch and Swedish settlers in my NJ elementary school.
