Good luck everyone! I was accepted EA and will most likely be attending so-depending on who is accepted and if Northeastern is there first choice- I look forward to meeting my new classmates in the fall!

I was deferred EA, so this days gonna be brutal as NEU is my first choice. Thought I had a pretty good package but I guess its pretty competitive this year. I have done everything I could have though with three campus visits, a talk with an admissions counselor, extra documents for my application and a personal statement. ACT score is probably holding me back with only a 27
but I’m hoping thats overlooked with my grades, extracurriculars and community service. Good luck to everyone!

Just by only having an account on CC gives you a good chance because it means you’re a committed applicant who took the time to research the university and see (hopefully) if you had a good chance or not of getting in, thus applying. Unless this was your reach (or one of those ‘let me apply and see what happens’) in terms of grades/SAT scores etc which ‘may’ break or make your app, I’m sure your commitment showed in your application. Being positive here :)

Good luck everyone! I’m from MA, I’m just worried my SAT score will hold me back, the rest of my application is solid, though.

what’s your SAT score?

1680 (540 CR/ 560 M/ 680 W). I saw in last year’s thread that a kid with 1600/2400 got accepted. I would be overjoyed if I got in, but I’m somewhat pessimistic about my odds.

Lol my friends and I were talking about it and we concluded asking what someone’s SAT score is, is similar to asking how much they weigh? Haha

So you guys don’t think it’ll hurt my application that much? I really love this school.

soooooo are we pretty much all in agreement that it’s today?

It depends on your other stats, but I would say yeah, it’s most likely an application killer.

It’s today, the portal is down.

I’m ranked 20 out of around 450 kids. My GPA (4.15) is higher than their average both weighted and unweighted. I’ve been to Girls State. I’m involved with Key Club, National Honor Society, History Honor Society and Relay for Life. I got a SOAR award (highest history average over 4 years) and an award for highest AP USH average. I wanna major in history, political science or international relations. I’m a hardworking student and conscientious. I work at the MSPCA every Ssturday for 4 hours, and have been doing so since April 2011. I’ve been accepted to UMass Lowell, umass Amherst, Suffolk university and Merrimack college. I was captain of my mock trial team, and am a captain and committee member for relay for life.

Also, I got excellent recommendations from two teachers and my guidance counselor, and I believe my essay was pretty good.

I would say you have a good chance then. The high GPA and ECs will help for sure. Only way to know is to wait.

unclebadness, are you from maryland?

I’d say you have a pretty damn good chance, beatlesfreak haha. Remember, Northeastern isn’t Harvard. If the rest of your app is stellar, which it seems it is, then subpar SAT scores (and SATs are being valued less highly each day…hell, a lot of schools don’t even require them anymore) won’t destroy you.

GRR three hours until I hear back.

Will we get an email when the decisions are ready or is there a time we are supposed to check?

Hey, guys I also got a 1680 like @beatlesfreak94. Can you guys look at my stats and give me your opinion. One of my top schools, really nervous!
