Northeastern Early Action / Early Decision Class of 2030 Official Thread

I thought the website says by the end of December? Like 12/31

I believe these are the dates they’ve released in the past:
12/11/24, 12/13/23, 12/8/22, 12/8/21, 12/9/20, 12/11/19, 12/5/18, 12/14/17 @ 7pm

‘17, ‘18 and ‘22 are Thursdays, the rest are Wednesdays. This year, 12/10 is a Wednesday and 12/11 is a Thursday. If it goes into the next week, it will be later than they’ve released in recent memory.

Let me clarify that these dates are for ED1 not early action.

Woah so when they say by Jan 1, I expect it to be late December so we can still hear 12/15 decisions from other schools. Wow.

I just clarified my post to say those dates are for ED1 not EA.

Does anyone know if the cost of attendance comes out along with the ED1 decision in early December? I didn’t know about the opportunity to request an early price through the portal, and now I’m worried I won’t know. It will be included with the ED1 decision (if accepted) as long as I have submitted the FAFSA, CSS, and all collegeboard IDOC requested documents right?

Yes, if all supporting documents were submitted on time, the ED decision will show all need based and merit aid.

Why didn’t you get a pre-read for ED from Northeastern? If the numbers don’t look good, you can still switch to EA. It’s not too late.

Even with a pre-read - she really wants to see all the options. And Scripps moved into her #1 spot as well -so that’s another good reason. But even for that one -she doesn’t want to ED. She just really wants to do a COA (cost of attendance) comparison and that requires EA or RD applications.

Why I hate ED. These are kids. Things change in a minute !!

YES -that too! How is a 17 or 18 kid supposed to know where they want to spend the next four years when their minds change from one month to the next?

If I apply ED1 with a London start as my first choice, do I have a higher chance of admission than choosing Boston as my first choice? And if so, how much higher?

I have the same question too altho I am wondering between Boston and nu.in

Applying ED to a campus other than Boston will give you a better chance of being admitted but it is impossible for anyone to estimate how much greater a chance.

Just learned that NEU London program is on rolling admission basis but not much more details. Is anyone familiar with this pathway?

Rolling Admission is for Northeastern University London only, which is different from the Northeastern University London Scholars program.

Northeastern University London: A UK university, where students spend 3 years earning a UK degree.

Northeastern University London Scholars: An admission path/experience to Northeastern University in Boston. Students spend year 1 in London (at the UK campus) and then transition to Boston year 2. In some cases students on this path can switch to the UK school and degree, or even do a 3+1 program and earn a degree from both the UK and US colleges.

The London Scholars program follows the same notification dates as Northeastern University generally.

If one applies directly to Northeastern University London and are accepted, there is no guarantee of second year transfer to Boston. You would be expected to complete the three-year UK degree then move to Boston for a fourth year and a US degree if you choose to do so.

It’s a Wednesday in December past 7PM EST, so I guess it’s safe to assume ED I is not coming out today but 7PM next Wednesday?

so scary! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Best guess is either Dec 10 or Dec 11 at 7 PM EST for ED I decisions. In prior years, school counselors received an email notifying them that decisions would be released later that day.
