I noticed that and am curious as well. I must believe they moved the deadline to gain more time to release decisions.

All notification dates are BY 1/1 etc, not ON 1/1. They have always come out before that date. It gives them wiggle room in case something goes wrong.

Yes, but it used to by December 15- and was never that late. I am thinking this change probably is significant, and decisions arenât coming this week. Just curious is anyone has some intel!
Most likely December 8th, 4:00 pm, the first waves will be released. Keep in mind these things do change, often at the last moment.
I hope so! Do you have a particular reason to believe the date change was not significant? Keeping our expectations low, but really hope you are right!

Right. The reason I think the pattern may be broken this year is that they have said December 15th in past years, and they are saying January 1 this year. Hope the pattern holds!
We will find out this Friday!
Typically they have been released on Wednesdays or Thursdays, but you never know. Those past dates are all W/TH; Dec 8th this year is a Friday.

I really hope itâs this week. Jan 1st is very close , even if itâs a week before that, to turn around an ED2. Anyone have insight into the Jan 1st change versus Dec 15?
Hopefully they keep the pattern and they will release it this week! So then we can move on!

Yep. It has been as early as the 5th and as late as the 13th in recent years, so there is recent precedent for as early as today.
Please know that many ED applicants get deferred to RD or accepted to alternate entry programsâŠ. So not quite sure about moving on right awayâŠ. Sorry to say. Many do later get accepted RD with merit aid etc as well.

I just called admissions and they obviously wonât give a release date for ED decisions; but I pushed and said I know they canât say for sure, but that historically they have been released around now, and was even possible that they might come out this week? She said, âI will say this: it is not likely.â

As much as I would wish for this to be true, I donât think the person would lie. They could just say I dont know/cant tell.
ED1 Decision by Jan 1 (Instead of Dec 15 as previous years) should have given a hint that decisions will be delayed this year.
