FYI…My student applied EA last year Boston campus only
Was accepted EA but we didn’t qualify for fin aid
Got merit $ but it did not move the needle so it was a no for our family.
I just can’t be,I eve how many families were willing to pay full price to go to nu.

So does everyone think decisions will come out on Thursday?

I think it’d come out sometime this week, i don’t know about Thursday though.

This week seems highly likely… really hoping the email hack is not an indicator but super curious to see if it is. I suspect it means something, though, like maybe just those who got Boston (which means they are technically bound to go, so worth the effort setting up an email for them) and not NU in, etc. Doesn’t explain athletes, but still. Who knows. NEU is a stretch here so my kid would be thrilled with NU in. Only thing she won’t consider is Cali campus.

what day do you think?

No clue, but my bet’s on Wed or Thurs.

Northeastern has made so many changes in the notification process in the past couple of years that the past is no longer a predictor of the present. That said, Northeastern has never released decisions on a Monday or Friday. Wednesday is the most likely day but who knows. In the past all ED decisions have been released in one batch around 7 PM EST.

And to reiterate, if you are offered admission to a location other than Boston it is a final decision. If you do not want to start at that location, then consider it a denial and move on.

Do you know anything about the email hack some posters have been talking about? Is it a legitimate way of indicating acceptance?

Checked the portal and I did notice that the button to “change your application decision” or something like that is gone now…
I guess there is no turning back now…

it worked with my nickname initial, just in case your student had a nickname

Other possibilities could be email addresses set up per location, alphabetically and who knows what else. Also a possibility that the hack was discovered so disabled for future email addresses.

Recruited athletes are the only students who so far are guaranteed to get in the Boston campus. If their emails have not been set up then I’m not sure how reliable this hack is as an indicator of anything.

FYI - when my son was waiting for a decision from Case Western a few years ago, this “hack” trick popped up and was a big question for the students waiting on decisions. It ended up being a big nothing. Don’t get your hopes up. A few years ago, a lot of people were really, really disappointed. Maybe NEU uses the same software…??? Good luck, Everyone!

Same here. A few days ago, it changed from editable to locked. Today, the button is gone.

Likely means nothing.

I sincerely hope that everyone here gets in, and gets the campus of their choice.
Having a decision date “By Jan1” has certainly increased a lot of anxiety and speculation.
