Hello I got accepted into northeastern as a sophomore. i was just curious as to how it works. i am expecting to get a c maybe even a D in calculus 2. if they don’t like my grades can northeastern take away my acceptance if they want to? i cant seem to find any info on this.

Great… so this past weekend my teacher (who wrote a letter of rec.) told me she “may or may not” mixed up the letters and schools envelopes. I called NEU to see and they verified my worst fear. The admissions rep told me they would make note of it in my application and to try and send a correct letter of rec. ASAP… only problem is that my teacher is on vacation till next week. I want to ball my eyes out. I am so upset words cannot even begin to explain how I am feeling :’’-(. Has this ever happened to anyone? Will this hinder me from getting in? I called the rest of my schools and NYU and BU both said “it will not effect your chance in anyway and thank you for calling”. I am so upset I worked so hard on all my applications I just don’t want to mess up my future with some stupid mistake.

i was in a similar situation last year and was pretty freaked out too. luckily, the schools are accustomed to problems like this happening, and thus will not deny you solely due to a problem which was entirely out of your hands. as long as your common app was submitted by the deadline then you’re still in the money, even with the delay in your LOR arriving.

@mernsauce thanks for the kind words! Well the good news is that the LOR’s were sent to the universities prior to the deadline. Bad news is that my professor just told me…

Did you get into the university of your choice last year even with this mistake?

so its been 3 weeks and i still havnt heard back. im not being impatient, i just want to make sure there isnt a problem with my application. anyone else still waiting ?

“If you wish to pursue completion of your bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University we can offer you admission to a Bachelor of Science degree program in Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies”

I think it’s something you can go into, get your grades up, and transfer. It looks like these programs are usually for people who are going back to school, but I am not quite sure.
