I’m completely floored because I had a really bad freshmen year so my cumulative GPA is pretty low, although junior year I did average a 4.5. I think I got accepted because of my strong ECs and leadership positions in most of them, along with my teacher recommendations and essay :). I’m very grateful!
For those of you who might have had lower GPAs, don’t give up hope! I really think NU look at things holistically. Good luck everyone.

I would like to think I had good extracurriculars with athletics, clubs, and volunteer and work experience. I was also proud of my common application essay.

National Hispanic Scholar - only received $15,000 scholarship. Extremely disappointed as everyone including Admissions people at NEU including her admissions rep told her it was $30k (in fact rep said it was guaranteed!) and I could not find anyone on this site who did not get $30k, year after year. This could effect whether she goes or not. Yes grateful to get anything, but when all had set it up as $30k, it is extremely troublesome. The $30k was a major reason for even applying. Will try to negotiate and find out what happened this year. I am late getting on this board after being on most of day but I am hearing I am not alone on this happening.
