Northeastern University 2021 RD

For what it’s worth - my kid got a 35 on single sitting ACT and was offered an NUin spot so I don’t think it’s necessarily for kids with a slightly lower scores or scores they are looking to not report…

Exactly the same with my D. Accepted into NU in. One sitting for ACT and score of 35 with UW GPA of 4.6. Don’t think it’s a stats thing.

D also accepted to NUin but she says you have to be 18 to study abroad. She doesn’t turn 18 till mid September. So if she accepts does she stay in Boston for her first semester?

Yes. My daughter has the same issue. They’re guaranteed a spot in Boston.

The NUin information page provided by the university states that certain countries (England and Italy) require the student to be 18 in August.
We were looking at Greece, which doesn’t appear to have the age limitation.
My D turned 18 this past December. I’m trying to research everything I can since this was somewhat unexpected!

If they stay in Boston are they guaranteed dorm and classes on main campus like regular admits to NU?

They would still be in NU In in Boston. Housing is guaranteed but in a nearby hotel.

That rule only applies to some locations, Greece & Dublin allow 17 y/o!

As far as I know NUin Boston students stay in a hotel about 15 minutes from campus

Any idea when they will announce where they are housing students this year for NUIn Boston? Still nothing official yet. It’s the only location without housing info. They may be having troubling securing the Westin this year?

Spoke with someone in Admissions about an hour ago and they said NUin Boston housing will be announced soon. She said it will probably be the Westin again. I also asked about going into buildings on scheduled in-person campus tours and she said the tour does not go into any buildings due to Covid restrictions. We were planning a trip to Boston from Philly this weekend, staying at the Westin, but I am not sure it is worth it if we can’t go into any buildings.

Did anyone get anything in the mail?

nope, was wondering the same thing

Nope

S got in EA, and it took 3-4 weeks to get the mail acceptance.

Yeah I got it. I’m on the east coast though, not too far from Boston

Did anyone else receive an email about the Global Quest Program? It says “You have been specially selected to be considered for Northeastern’s Global Quest program” but I don’t know what that means… does anyone else have info?
