Northeastern

I am junior attending a very prestigious high school in the midwest. I have a 3.3 GPA and am expecting to get a 26-30 on my ACT. I know my GPA is low but kids have gotten into hard schools with lower than average GPA’s because my school is so difficult. I want to go into the business program. I am on three varsity sports and have put about 130 hours of service. I also will not need financial aid (Is this a plus?). What do you think my chances are?

Very good; safety.

I wouldn’t say safety…I have a 3.2-3.4 (good parochial school), upward trend (but didn’t do that well freshman year…10th was so so, junior year was an improvement, and almost straight A’s senior year…only a few days left! WOO) 720M 650V 650WR SAT, URM, Iowa resident. Visited in summer. Applied EA, deferred to regular then declined. (keep in mind I had horrible EC’s and my SAT II’s weren’t so hot either) With that said I’d say you stand a very good chance as you seem well rounded - but they get more selective every year and I would not have them as your only safety. Visit if you can, the campus is in a great location.
