Northwest Animal Facility - the most secretive building at Cal?

I didn’t even know of the building’s existence while I was a Cal student a decade ago (then again, I wasn’t a life sciences major.) Many official maps of the Cal campus don’t even mention this building, and the ones that do often abbreviate it as “NAF” or “NWAF” instead of spelling out its full name. It’s located under Barker Hall, near the intersection of Hearst and Oxford. All entrances are locked and require a key card, even during business/school hours.

This building houses over 40,000 animals, including rats, monkeys, cats, dogs and other species, which are used for research purposes. Apparently, most of the NAF, including the animal quarters and vivisection labs, was built underground to keep out prying eyes from PETA activists and the like.

Does anyone have photographs of the NAF’s underground levels? I’m not an animal rights activist, I’m just curious as to what it looks like.
