I’m apply to Medill’s M.S. in Journalism for fall 2010.

Just curious to hear from any Northwestern grad students about what they love and hate about Northwestern. I’m particularly interested in hearing more about student life - housing, transportation, etc., etc.

I’m not a grad student but I just wanted to say our Kellogg students should stop being pompous. Though you are in one of our best programs, you aren’t clear-cut above the rest. I would say our med students are most impressive, then law, then grad students in various areas of arts & sciences/engineering and then you guys despite what rankings might say. Nobody is impressed by your oh-so-subtle ways of revealing you go to Kellogg in very inappropriate contexts.

brebeuff, might I ask why you say med students are most impressive? I haven’t had any interaction with law students to know where they fall but I’d have to agree with your relative “rankings” of the other three.

lol…well, NU med school students are the most book-smart, as demonstrated by their average GPA. the law school students are pretty close too. Kellogg students are the least book-smart but they are the most biz-savvy and know how to look confident (pompous) and BS the most. :)

Kellogg students are known for their teamwork and they get very high ratings from recruiters. So relative to other top schools, they are probably less pompous than most others. If you think Kellogg students are bad, wait until you run into Stanford ones.

lol!

While a gross generalization, there’s some truth to it.

NU med and law students generally tend to be fairly grounded (there are exceptions, of course).

Kellogg students do tend to walk around w/ their chests puffed out.
