do you have links to Penn’s or Yale’s?
also, what is MGH?

brown 2006
http://bms.brown.edu/students/matchlist05/</a></p>

MGH Affiliated with Harvard Medical School
Massachusetts General Hospital

If you really have time to spare (which most graduating seniors have), go to SDN (google it) and use the pre-allo threads.

Brown’s match list looked a little more impressive than Feinberg b/c most feinberg people went to Northwestern’s Hospital for residency

three6mafia, i read about how you got in. what race are you? ive been reading all these things about extracurriculars, gpa, etc, but isn’t it hard to get in if your asian.

also, do you have to turn in your 1st semester senior transcript when applying, cause its kind of regular desciion?

horizontm, I pmed you and I included my 1st semester senior grades on the sheet HPME gave us to fill out all of our grades

can someone tell me my chances at hpme? i’m a junior…taking ap chem, ap span 4, ap english 1 and ap english 2, ap calc bc, ap physics b and all honors classes this year and next year.

High School: Private
High School Type: sends many grads to top schools

Academics:

GPA - Weighted: 5.02
Class Rank: top 25%
Class Size: 64

Scores:

SAT I Math: 800
SAT I Critical Reading: 800
SAT I Writing: 710
ACT: 32
SAT II U.S. History: 660

Class rank needs to be in the top 10%. SAT is good. Need SAT II CHEM, BIO…
How are your EC - do you have clinical/research experience?

did they change the program this year? I was talking to some of my friends, and they said that the kids who were admitted last year had the chance to apply to another med school after 3 years, while still having a seat available to them at nw?

well the acceptance letter definitely makes it clear that while you CAN apply to other med schools, you lose your guaranteed spot

For newly admitted students, did the letter say anything about the GPA (science and overall) you have to maintain to stay in the program?

I’m trying to decide between HPME and the Med Scholars Program at MSU. they’re both the same idea (no MCAT, etc etc), and i know HPME is obviously the better program, but I wasn’t expecting to get in so i think it might be too difficult for me. any thoughts?

oh, and MedSchool4Me- the science GPA has to be 3.2 and the overall GPA has to be 3.0. That’s what it says on a NU website.

No, but I asked Dr. Green whether the GPA requirement was going to go up in my interview and she said they weren’t really planning to, but if they would raise it, they would not raise it substantially (like above a 3.4)

AmritaRani, You are so lucky to have been selected for HPME. I am sure they would not have chosen you if they had any doubt about your future success in the program!

If you don’t mind, what are your stats?

I’ve heard a large range of stats for this program so I think the selection process might focus more on the interviews (somebody correct me if I am mistaken). As for stats
M/R/W: 800/800/770: 2370
MIIC: 800
Bio:800
Chem:800
GPA UW: 4
APs:9

the average stats for hpme are around 780 M and 750 CR

Some of you who are deciding between HPME and HYPSM might want to take a look at Feinberg’s Class of 2010 profile:
http://www.medschool.northwestern.edu/admissions/md/students/class-profile.html</a>
Feinberg had a 1.81% acceptance rate last year.
Avg. GPA: 3.71 and 3.65(sciences)
Avg. MCAT scores:
Biological Sciences:11.6
Physical Sciences: 11.3
Verbal: 10.7
Those are some pretty insane stats for a medical applicant.
