Northwestern SCS Transfer Credit

I’m thinking about the SCS school at NU. I already have a B.A. from another school, but I’m now working on another degree in a completely different study. My question is on the following link it said that credits earned for a B.A. from another school are non-transferable, is that really true?

"Coursework applied toward a previously earned bachelor’s degree is not transferable. "

[Evaluation of Transfer Credit at the School of Continuing Studies of Northwestern University](http://www.scs.northwestern.edu/ugrad/admissions/evaluation_of_credit.cfm)

Why wouldn’t they transfer if that really is so? Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like that is punishing someone who wants to earn a second degree…

I really want to get into the program they have but I don’t want to waste my money on classes I’ve already taken that could have transferred if it wasn’t for that strange little sentence.

Let me know why that is their stance or if I’m wrong and misunderstand.

…bump

any know?

Hello,

They will transfer in everything UP to 1/2 your credits… so say 60 hours or 23 credits…

Hopefully they match up to their core information, as you will still need to fulfill them, I’m assuming you would have already. I’m pretty sure they will still make you take a writing course regardless, after that the rest should transfer in… There are a lot of 2nd BA / pre med students at NU SCS.
