Northwestern Voice

I have a 3.8 gpa and did not take difficult classes so far, but have an incredibly rigorous senior course load. I know that my audition and resume/extra curriculars/essays will be very strong. But, I am worried that my gpa and easy course load from freshmen-junior years won’t cut it. What are the odds of me being admitted to the voice program E.D.?

It seems that Bienen wants you to call first to ask permission to apply ED, so why not call and ask them if your academic profile is sufficient for consideration? Beyond that, it’s all in the audition. Good luck!

My D is a voice major at Bienen( DD also in Weinberg). The music Dept as a whole discourages ED. They now also have prescreening for voice. Admission is primarily based on the audition and they are now taking less than %17 of applicants. Your academics may be good enough if your SAT scores are good.Average SATs in Bienen are greater than 1300 Reading and math Hope this helps

Okay, now I have a 3.76 gpa and a 2120 SAT: 680 math, 710 CR, 730 Verbal. Applying reg. decision for voice major. Any thoughts on my odds of admission?

I think you got the academic part out of the way. It largely depends on how good your “voice” is.
