Just want to start a thread for this year’s waitlisted applicants at Northwestern
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I submitted a LOCI and had an additional rec letter submitted a couple of days ago. Should I reach out to my regional ao to confirm that my documents were submitted, since I haven’t heard anything back yet?
I’m waitlisted in IL, hopefully it’s not one of the last states to find out like last year

Has anyone received updates from their region ao?
Hey I got waitlisted from NU but this morning I just received a reconfirmation letter. Is this sent to everyone or is it selective?
I think it’s standard? My daughters friend is on the waitlist and she told us a few weeks ago that the waitlist process included accepting the spot, sending LOCI, and then reconfirming interest in April 15th. I remember thinking that the April 15 thing was weird when she told us.

Oh I see… May I ask how she found out the reconfirmation letter would be sent out at April 15th? I wasn’t notified. Thank you!!
I’m sorry I honestly don’t know. I only remember this because I thought it was odd that she had to sign up for the waitlist a few weeks ago and then reconfirm interest on April 15th, only a few weeks later.

Yeah this is sent out to everyone on April 15th. I think it’s mainly to make sure that everyone who accepted the waitlist spot earlier didn’t flake off for another school.

Got off the waitlist via a phone call today! Uploaded LOCI to portal and sent LOCI to regional rep a few days after getting waitlisted. Lmk if you have any questions!
Just need some advice about financial aid: As an international student (no FAFSA), I did not submit my CSS profile (somehow), and can’t get financial aid. Should I and would it be too late to submit it now? I’m also worried it will affect my decision since NU is need-aware. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Bienen violin major. I asked my private violin teacher to send a recommendation letter, and I listed my achievements/updates in my LOCI. Thanks for your support!

Congratulations! Do you need financial aid in order to attend? If you do, you should reach out as soon as possible to see if they will still accept a CSS.

I have a weird question, but a few weeks ago, I uploaded my loci to my portal, but after for whatever reason it didn’t upload, I emailed it to my regional ao. She said they would upload it to my file, and I assumed that everything worked out. However, I just randomly checked my portal today and realized that my loci was only uploaded last Friday. I’m not sure if this was because my they forgot to do it or something (I sent a follow up email to her the day they finally uploaded it), but I was just wondering when the admissions office begins reviewing waitlist materials and if this kinda screws me over.
