They keep sending me emails and something in the mail inviting me to apply. I am currently a junior on an IEP. I scored 820 on the SAT, have not taken ACT yet and currently have a 2.71 gpa. I’m pretty sure I will not get accepted, and I have not taken a foreign language. Are they actually interested in me or was it pick a name from the list? Should apply? I really don’t want to apply to a school I know won’t accept me. Also I am from Ohio if that means anything.

Leave things as they are. My youngest measured her college snail mail by the feet. Emails were at least a hundred per day. Some schools just made first contact while others made frequent contact. Many ended up waving application fees and essays. We just looked at the carrot that they were waving to try to entice her. Harvard and Duke both heavily recruited her which now she regrets not going for just to see if she would get in. She ended up picking 6 schools and played for sale to the highest bidder. She does not regret her final choice since she loved it there. Even after making her final decision, one school held her presidential scholarship for a semester in case she changed her mind. Just sit back and enjoy it. You never know what a school is looking for. I know one who was recruited, admitted and got a free ride because they needed a tuba player otherwise he might not have met their admissions requirements.
