Not Again!

So I took the ACT earlier this year (junior) and scored a 35. I wasn’t expecting this (expected 33-34) and am happy with the score. However, I have to take it again in a few weeks as mandated by my state and hope to score a 36. The thing is, since I wasn’t expecting my best score when I got the 35 I didn’t take the writing. I can’t take the writing during the state mandated test. Unfortunately, many schools I am looking at need writing. Hopefully, I can study for only the writing and take the test again with a lower composite score. If the school is super scoring can I submit the 35-36 and the writing with a lower composite so that they see it as one? This would be such a time saver.

If it helps this is important mostly for MIT and Caltech specifically

Speak to your principal, you may not HAVE to take the state test at all, as long as you have a test result for the state, you might be released (this is what happens here, I just learned). So talk to your school and book a with writing test that suits your timeline. Frankly I would say sit the soonest available test as you are obviously well prepared. Not that many schools do superscore, and many only look at the test WITH writing composite score. You can check that at each school in question yourself.
