not approved yet syllabus

My teacher said that her syllabus is not yet approved by CB. Will this affect my scores?

It will affect the outcome of your weighted GPA, because CB might not consider the course an AP course, but it will definitely not affect your score since you don’t need to take an AP class to take the AP test anyways.

The syllabus your teacher is referring to is part of the AP Audit process that all teachers of AP courses had to go through for this year, and that all new AP teachers have to go through for succeeding years. The AP Audit is a process that impacts a school’s ability to put the AP designation on a transcript. It in no way impacts the scores that students earn on an exam, which is entirely based on your performance on a test.

What it could impact is likely not your weighted GPA (the school will either place the designation on the course or they won’t, and have already had to tentatively make that decision for this school year), but how colleges will look at the GPA. If you are shown to be taking a course labeled as AP by a teacher that does not have an approved syllabus, that course might be ranked lower, and it could limit your school’s ability to offer AP courses in the future.
