I know theres been other threads about this topic but I feel my situation might be different. I just started my sophomore year in school (business school) and thought about transferring last year but my parents didn’t let me. I play baseball at college and have a girlfriend at a different college (tech school). Most of my friends are kids on the team and I dont fit in with them. Im the type of kid who likes chilling and not doing anything super crazy yet it seems like everyone at my school are the bro type and come off as jerkoffs. I want to do something with computers too as a major and my school sucks at that but my girlfriends school would fit me perfectly. I just dont really like it here but I dont know what to do. Anything feedback would be great thank you :)

Convince your parents to let you apply anyway, since it can’t hurt to have options. Let them know you’re serious about pursuing Computer Science.

Word of caution: Don’t let the fact that your girlfriend attends this other college influence your decision. Focus primarily on your own future.

y r ur 'rents in charge of ur lyf bro.

my parents pay the bill so they kind of have a say in what I do and the fact with my girlfriend, its just nice being able to see her. I don’t plan on being with her every second of the day I may try playing baseball there anyway but her being there definitely gives some good incentive

^You’re right. They have a say, but not a complete one. Get some facts together about the school you want to transfer to. Make it clear to your parents that you really want to do computer science and that this other school is a better place to do it at and that your current school sucks. If they don’t already know, do NOT mention that your girlfriend goes there. If they do know that’s one giant strike against you, because no matter what you say you won’t convince them that she doesn’t have something to do with this decision. If all else fails beg them to let you transfer.
