Not getting extra recs

<p>Would it be detrimental to my application if I did not provide any extra LORs in my application, especially if I’m heavily involved in a certain extracurricular?</p>

<p>Would adcoms become suspicious of my involvement?</p>

<p>The thing is, the advisor for my most-involved extracurric passed away this June. I’ve considered asking my counselor to explain my absence of an additional rec, but would that be superfluous?</p>

<p>Not submitting more than the required number of recs will not hurt you . In fact, submitting more than the required recs at a number of colleges could actually hurt you because they expressly state they don’t want you to send anything other than what they request.</p>
