Not going to a summer program, but still doing somthing productive!

Hey evryone this thread is for all those people who ddint apply or didnt get into a summer program but still doing somthing productive during there summer break!

My story: I found out about all this summer program stuff to late and besides i had a plane ticket awaiting to Thailand.Becuase my church wanted me to thai dance for them for the queens birthday, and represent texas and etc. So my mom asked one of my money making aunts if i can have some sort of internship at her international surveying firm, and i got !. On top of that im also going to be volunteering my free time to go tutor little kids english at one of the underprivlaged schools behind my grams house.-Till then im going to volunteer at the library, to get some extra hours.

Quick question: Will i be able to put this down on my college app ?

So everyone we dont have to be accepted into a pricey program to say we
did somthing productive during our hard earned break, please tell your stories!

bump…

You can definitely put all that down on your college applications. Sounds like a very interesting summer. I hope the queen likes your dancing.

You definitely don’t have to pay to do something that will look very good on your college applications. (Eagle Scout and Gold Award projects and other self motivated community service projects are great.)

I think a college would appreciate any of these five young women, and they didn’t have to apply and compete for a spot in a summer program. Show your passion, your drive, and your leadership skills.
