Not my cup of SAT

Here’s my problem: I have scored 33 on the ACT, but opted to skip the SAT because from what I experienced in practice tests, my scores seemed far less impressive and I worried about jeopardizing my chances at big name schools with a sub-par results. Besides, I live in Minnesota where it’s all about the ACT… half of my class would scarcely know what the SAT is. I am beginning to think, however, this may have been a poor choice, as I have a wait list from NU under my belt already with no likely letters or anything for anywhere else. I suppose either way it’s too late to change anything so for all practical purposes this won’t make any difference for me, but I figured input on this subject may assist others with similar questions. Besides, I’m curious :)

Do you think not having taken the SAT reduces my chances of admission by making it tougher to compare me to others who have?

33 is a fine score. I doubt it was the score that is keeping you out

No, it shouldn’t. If a college preferred the SAT to the ACT, they’d say so. They don’t. Admissions officers know how to compare SAT and ACT scores to each other. There’s so much more to admissions than your stats, whether they be SAT or ACT.

You were waitlisted for reasons other than the fact that you submitted only the ACT.
