Not sure about CMU Summer program

First off Im a junior in high school and i got a scholarship for Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-college program for Art & Desgin. Im pretty much being forced to go there. My parents forced this down my throat so now i have no choice. Im kinda lazy as hell so i wanted to lay back and chill with friends and party, etc. but now this is in the way. Since theres no turning back from this im kinda dreading it and not looking forward to it. I kno what its all about and why its important but it wasnt what i had in mind. Im one of those dudes that dont get straight A’s in school but still do decent and partys alot with friends and stuff like that, so basically im not a “nerd”. So im wondering will this be any fun? I mean i know its a taste of college life, but im worried i wont fit in and be that “wish i wasnt here” guy. Has anyone here done it before? Is it any fun? Cuz i dont wanna spend weeks just studying and no fun. If it is really fun, what would be so fun about it?

You should seriously consider giving this up so that CMU can offer it to someone else who really is motivated to go there. You have been offered a chance to do something worthwhile and you seem totally disinterested. I doubt anything anyone says will change your mind.

Yes, it is kind of sad that you are using an 8k scholarship that would have been an incredible opportunity for someone else. Your essays must have been some serious bs. I hope you don’t plan to major in that field-obviously you have no passion for it. It just don’t know what to say. If you mean drinking when you say “partying”, then watch out as they have zero tolerance policy and will send you home immediately.

I have a passion for art and i wanna major in it but i just didnt plan on doing this program

Then don’t do it. What are you hoping people will say here to motivate you?
If your parents can’t motivate you and your passion can’t motivate you, then I
seriously doubt anything anyone here can say to you will help you.
Give the slot to someone else. There are a ton of kids to take your slot.
My S goes to CFA- Design and he tells me there is no room for slackers.
