Not Taking AP Test

I’m in AP Gov, but I’m not taking the AP test in May because I do not feel the need to do so (…and also because I’m not strong in all parts of Gov). However, I am taking my other 3 AP exams as I had written in my application. Do I have to notify NU about this change?

By not taking the AP, the only real disadvantage you’re putting yourself through is the lack of possible college credit (I’m assuming NU accepts a 5, maybe 4 on AP Govt although I haven’t personally checked). As far as I know, colleges are more concerned about the fact that you’re in that class and how you’re doing in it; e.g. getting an A in AP Govt for the year but getting a 1 on the AP means absolutely nothing to colleges

^^^Agreed. By the way, you’d need a 5 on AP Govt to get one unit of credit. I can’t imagine that you would have to notify NU that you are not taking the exam. Since you are not trying to get a credit, they shouldn’t care.

I wouldn’t worry about it. As long as you do well in the class, they could care less what you get on the AP exam now.
