Im a junior with a 2.8 or 3 gpa (not sure) and i took the sat and had a score of 1600 without prep. after preparation im expecting it to go up to a 1700 or an 1800. Ive been looking at some colleges and i have noticed that my gpa is very low compared to what they were looking for. This is most likely because i go to an extremely hard high school (american school of doha). i would like to study chemistry in an average college or maybe a bit above average if possible. what colleges are right for me?

There are plenty of schools in the country that will accept you with those scores. Maybe not Harvard, but with your SAT you’ll have options. Try to get your GPA up in the time you have left.

What else are you looking for in a college? Do you want urban? Small rural college town? How much can you afford to pay? Look at college matchmakers online like on College Confidential, Collegeboard, or Princeton Review. You can put in your scores and it’ll bring up colleges you are a fit for.

Are you an int’l student?

If so, how much will your parents pay each year?

What’s your class rank? That would be essential to evaluate your school’s grading scale - would you be in the top 30% of your class, for instance?

Oops, I missed that you were international. Sorry, that might change my answer drastically.
