I would love to hear success stories regarding students whose SAT scores have been somewhat below par, but have gotten accepted into a great university.

My daughter: SATs 1200/1960, ACT 28 – accepted Barnard, Chicago, NYU, Berkeley (in state). (but she had a very high GPA, strong class rank & intriguing EC’s - its the whole package that counts, and weak scores need to be offset by strengths in other areas)

To the OP:
I PM’ed you.

My math score was mid-500’s and I was accepted to an Ivy. My CR and W were very high, so I suppose they off-set the math. College admissions are about more than numbers.
