Well, I sent my package with my transcript and recommendations, but no one was there to get it, so a note was left. It says that if no one picks it up at the post office - it will get sent back to me.

Does anyone have similar experiences to this? What do I do?

If it comes back, call the admissions office when they return from the holiday break and explain what happened and what you are planning to do.
I’m sure this happens every year.

Your transcript and recommendations are not due on January 1 (this is the deadline for the student application). As long as your application is submitted on time, you will be ok.

Mrs. Hernandez was an admissions officer for Dartmouth, and she also wrote A for Admission. Take this advice with a grain of salt though. Most of your submission was electronic, while I believe it was mostly paper for the time she was there. A day or two shouldn’t matter too much, but a week is pushing it.
