Note Stanford only wants online submission

I am writing this just to make sure students are aware that the Stanford website emphasizes that they are only accepting online submission of both the common app and the Stanford supplement. I am seeing some posts referencing postmark date, so I just wanted to direct everyone’s attention to the Stanford website. They emphasize this, and say they will not accept paper applications. If you have already sent paper, make sure you submit electronically before the deadline.

The arts supplement is obviously the exception, and they have separate instructions for that, also on their website. They don’t use the common app arts supplement.

The postmark date is for transcripts and teacher recommendations, things that can not be submitted online.

Can you link to where on the site it says that? I can’t seem to find it.

“Please note that all applicants to Stanford must apply on-line and applicants must apply using the on-line version of the Common Application’s First Year Application (along with the Stanford Supplement to the Common Application). We no longer offer a paper application (unless approved by the Director of Admission and only for those students who do not have access to the internet or who require a disability related accommodation). Submitted paper copies of the Common Application’s First Year Application will not be accepted and will be returned.”

If the above post was to contradict what I said, transcripts and teacher recommendations are not part of the Common Application.
