My DS applied REA this cycle, class of 2024. He is beyond excited about the possibility of attending ND! I happened upon this conversation as we are anxiously awaiting a decision in a few weeks. I was just wondering what updates if any since the last post have occurred to the senior housing policy, specifically regarding off-campus seniors ability to participate in dorm activities.

@mtnsun13 Congratulations and all the best wishes to your son and the family for his his REA pending admission decision! Coming academic year our daughter will be a Senior and will continue to live on campus, which she wholeheartedly enjoys. In addition, Notre Dame’s housing policy amendments to motivate Junior and Senior Students to remain on campus shows positive results, as evidenced by the undergraduate off-campus housing market around campus, with several for rent signs well into September and October this year. @mtnsun13 - I’m not sure there really have been any. My DS is class of '22. They are the first class to have a 3 year residency requirement. He applied for and was accepted for the $2k stipend if he stays on campus for his senior year. The Rectors are still working on the activities portion of that policy as I understand it. It will be interesting to see what happens to the rental market in the next two years as this takes full effect.
@hpcsa and @usma87 - Thank you both so much. We are anxiously awaiting the Friday the 13th decision. Residential life @ ND sounds amazing! It is one of many reasons why my DS is applying. We are so hopeful to become a part of this community!
