Hi everyone! I was recently accepted to the Notre Dame Gateway Program and was curious if anyone else on here was as well. Additionally I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with the program and could tell me how it went and if it was worth it.

Congrats - are you able to go to their visit day. If not, you might ask to speak to a student or former student in the program - or you might ask if all majors are open.
It’s a big risk - Guaranteed transfer admission requires that all grades be a B or better with a final cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
What if you aren’t at a 3.5?

I’m not sure if I’m able to attend the visit day just yet but I’m working on connecting to an ex-gateway student. I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice or personal experience on cc first.
I’m sure it’ll be difficult but I have full confidence that I would be able to get a 3.5 GPA so I’m not too focused on that requirement of the program. Thanks!

Hi Irishfan1. I met you on the ND 2028 forum. I have a son who is accepted to the Gateway Program for next year. We have been reading a lot about it and while it is a different path to being a ND graduate, it seems most of the feedback has been generally very positive and some of the issues have been addressed (housing in the sophomore year - although we will be checking up on that to make sure this will not be an issue). I believe I saw that most move forward (75 out of 76 in a recent year) without much issue and anyone who didn’t, may not have been fully invested in the program. We will also be asking more about that.

If you contact your advisor, he/she may be able to give you a student to reach out to.
