Notre Dame Restrictive Early Action 2022

could be @ak9800 ive been having a feeling that it will literally be mid-December so either Friday or Saturday, but that seems so far away

Thanks @lspreacker I found it

Did anyone get a decision yet? Are they releasing them all at once or in waves?

@littlechild All at once. No one here has gotten their decision yet.

Still sad and upset… so much hype yesterday and nothing! Oh well hopefully they accept a lot of people.

I would love to get in as ND is my dream school, but at this point id be fine with a deferral after learning the stats on their website were wrong @-)

@lspreacker What do you mean the stats are wrong? What are the actual stats?

@howdy99 i’m pretty sure someone earlier in thread said that they were incorrect on the website but i can’t seem to find the post any more so i might be mistaken. in any case my sat is just below the stats on the websites and the below the other scores i’ve seen on here. i’m hoping my letters or rec, essay, and ecs balance it out thought. didn’t mean to freak anyone out whoops

Let Day 3 of the speculation begin!

I kept dreaming about it all night. I just want it to come out!

Happy groundhog day.

In 2015, decisions were released 7 days after the portal email was sent. So I’m sayin’ there’s a chance it is today.

Good morning! If today’s the day, I wish you all the best of luck.

“CommonApp needs to fix this like they already do to block multiple Early Decisions. It wouldn’t be that difficult.”

It would be very hard for the CA to police this because of all the sublties among the various EA programs. You can apply early for scholarships (at Stanford but not at HYP), you can apply early to state schools, you can apply early to service academies, etc. You can’t apply ED1 but you maybe can apply ED2. It can get tricky. The parents and GCs realistically are the only ones who can track these rules.

In California, the HS GCs all know that Stanford SCEA kids routinely apply early to USC since USC craftily constructed a scholarship program designed to get around Stanford SCEA. Princeton SCEA kids apply early to UVA in large numbers using the state school exception.

It is possible to be misled by the Common App since it does block out multiple ED apps. So folks wrongly assume that the system is monitoring all the relevant rules. But it only polices the very simple and easy to police ED rule – you get exactly one of those.

But this only comes up at the relatively small number of schools that have SCEA or REA – HYPS, ND, Gtown, BC are the ones I know about. But for CC, I probably wouldn’t have been wise to the issue.

My dad just called admissions. They said that all decisions would be released by Friday. So it could be today, tomorrow, or Friday. Either way we will all know soon!

I’m thinking it will be today. Late in the afternoon. Just my gut feeling, though.

@Momx2boys That is what people have been saying for like the past three days hahaha. I am hoping for that too!

Thanks for the info @northwesty. Once CommpnApp gave us one restriction (no multiple ED’s) then we figured it would ‘guide us’ to not make other mistakes. Reading the complexity I understand now why. And I’m not faulting any schools for their rules, you just have to give parents/students a break when it’s not fully understood. In our case it didn’t matter anyway since the Stanfod app was never properly completed - just properly paid for :frowning:

“If we all agree that the decisions will be released this week, then at least each day we don’t hear from them means we’re closer to the day we will. (Now it’s Wed-Fri, instead of Mon-Fri)”

  • My friends trying to cheer me up

Hey guys-I just called the admissions office and they said the decisions will be released “by friday”. I don’t want to get your hopes up in case they gave me incorrect information but that’s the real and slightly vague information they just gave me.

Think the admissions office is sick of all of the phone calls yet? lol
