Nov 17 Makeup SAT

anyone remember any other questions

Crap, I put basic for that one. It may be candid. Anyone else?

What question was it?

Basic seemed like it was too easy. You know how the SAT prefers secondary implications for words? Like how “pedestrian” doesn’t mean a walking person, but rather “dull, trite, etc”?

Then it’s probably candid. If so, that’s -2 on CR for me.

What did you guys write about for the essay?

I said free time is necessary to prevent disaster, using the examples of Frankenstein and The Shining.

I said “being busy = innovation and progress” and used Steve Jobs, The Industrial Revolution, and scientists at CERN.

I hope I do better this time. I’m a senior, and my last SAT (2150) wasn’t so great.

There was also that math question with the ratios? 3:4 and another ratio which I don’t remember

I got 3 for one of the ratio ones.

And @AspiringAchiever I’d be happy with a 2150 :(. I have a 2060 atm.

Yeah, but my ECs aren’t outstanding, so I need a high SAT score to help balance it a bit.

Is it just me or was the math harder than usual? I’m praying that the curve is nice

I agree with you, Lepstein. Math was difficult today. On my practice tests, my math was always 770+, but now, I feel horrible about it.

What irritates me the most is that I made many careless errors that impeded my getting the correct answer.

What irritates me more is that none of the vocab I studied was on the sentence completions.

wait what was the 10 to 1, w to w^2 one?

i know i made that stupid mistake on the three digit one. for some reason I thought 961 was the biggest LOL. how dumb was that i thought 9 times 6 is 96. *****.

i agree with you guys math was hard today so many errors… btw candid made no sense in the question. basic seemed correct. condid means honest.

Yeah math was…a handful today.

That’s the problem. Basic seemed correct, it was, what Princeton Review calls, a Joe Bloggs answer.

Candid means honest, but it also means straightforward and frank.

The question of how many hours one works per week is straightforward, with no partiality or bias, which is what candid means.

anybody remember any other passage based questions?

I just think its messed up how the November 3rd sat math sections were not nearly as hard as the November 17th. I was speaking to my friend who said the math was not hard at all on the 3rd.
