November 2008 SAT Critical Reading

so it was definitely numerous/unrecorded, and not humble/unassuming? i put humble/unassuming because it made sense that these “untold handlers” did not bother making a big spectacle about the fact that their elephants can draw because they didn’t feel it was necessary, and were modest about it.

100000000000000000000000000000% sure its numerous…my mom is a trainer and she is never humble (jus made that up lols)

-7 CR is probably somewhere around 700, depending on the curve.

im aiming at 690 on this i already have 800 math 750 writing from may…CR has always been my weakest, and i havent ever studied any vocab, all instinct baby

and also-how did the passage support the claim that they were “numerous”?

-7 is 700?? Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

I’m hoping to improve my 700 CR… I’ve probably got -3 or -4 by now, maybe I’ll get lucky and hold on to a 750 or so. Ehhh, either way, 2200+ and I think I’m done with SATs.

untold…implies a quantitatively large amount…the cafeteria was filled with an untold number of people…logically u assume its at such a large number you jus rather not count it and vaguely accept its a numerous and unspecified quantitaively large amount of people

stephan – You know the phrase that’s like “you will find untold riches” or something of that nature? Meaning like, boundless and unknown amounts of riches? Same thing applies here, as in “untold owners” - numerous amounts of owners, etc.

For my June SAT, -5 omit 3 CR was 700.

ah yes very true. dam i wanted to get 730. i dont think i can get it now

june has a NOTORIOUSLY bad curve ahahahahahahaha

(does anyone remember the exact question for “absurd” (food passage)?

and I put bewildered instead of overjoyed for Bose passage. Anyone agree with me?

whale it was overjoyed bro

If we’re talking about elephants numerous, it was.

^ But that was a difficult one. It could have easily been either: Bewildered that he had actually found that book in a place so unsuspected, and overjoyed for the same reason.

Absurd Q – The author implies that the food mentioned is…?

I’m pretty sure it’s overjoyed, though. Bewildered makes me think of being confused, and he seemed more like happy to have his beloved book again.
