November SAT complain

This might sound pretty stupid, but on the November SAT (international test-taker) , one topic tested was range. However in college board’s blue book there’s no mention of range whatsoever. They have all topics listed on how to prepare and do well for the SAT. I haven’t even seen range in any official SAT practice test. Did any of you think the same?

In the U.S., the earliest I ever saw the concept of range was 3rd grade. Internationally from what I understand, some international tests are actually just reused U.S. tests. Thus, you’d be expected to “just know this” since it’s standard in the U.S.

I’m not sure that complaining to the collegeboard will do much. Range is typically incorporated into simple statistics, which I think statistics is something listed in the guide.

I think you’re expected to know what range is…the ACT website mentions that it can test simple topics in statistics.

Range is generally a pretty standard/simple - sometimes falls under the classification of “measure of central tendency” so maybe that’s how CB classified them on the list of topics?
