<p>Extracurriculars
Girl Scouts - member for 13 years. Received Girl Scout Bronze Award, Silver Award & Gold Award (to be received in early 2010) This is where my major leadership is - I’ve planned a led a lot of events for younger Girl Scouts, as well as through my awards there.
Key Club - member freshman through senior year. 25 service hours a semester through KC
National Honor Society - member junior & senior year. self explanatory.
Youth group - active leader. Regular service opportunities, as well as attending Appalachia Service Project every summer (I’m also completing my Gold Award with ASP)
FCA - member junior & senior year. weekly meetings. I’m trying to do some leadership next year. The leaders are Baptist and are tryin to be kinda exclusive and don’t like that I go to a Methodist church. Pretty crazy, considered I was raised Southern Baptist? Yeah.
Newspaper - staff member sophomore through senior year. Editor position next year, possibly news or features…or editor-in-chief, if I’m lucky?!
Horseback riding - I’ve been riding since I was in 6th grade…so about 6 or 7 years? I do not ride competitively, so I can’t decide if this is even worth telling them. I really just ride once a week for run, and whoever is teaching my lesson tries to force me into competing, which completely takes the fun out of horseback riding.</p>
<p>I complete 100+ hours of service a year, not for college apps - BELIEVE IT OR NOT! I seriously love it. I’ve gotten the gold level of the Presidential Service Award two years in a row now, I THINK. And the two years before that, they were silver level maybe? ASP and writing are completely my passions. I absolutely love ASP and plan on writing one of my essays about it. It’s really an awesome organization, and it’s a ton of fun to go to, and I’m combining the two for my Gold Award - it’s a huge project and I’m making promotional stuff for ASP to use in their next 5 year campaign to double their number of volunteers. And it’s going to be awesome.</p>
<p>Thanks for any advice guysssss (:</p>
