<p>I am literally about to cry right now! I just checked my email and I received my semi-finalist notification today at 4:32pm. I live in Florida and I only applied for China Summer!</p>
<p>Good luck to you all! Do not worry if you have not gotten your notification yet! They will be sent out during december! Today is just day one! </p>

<p>I got the notification I’m a semi-finalist! I won’t get my hopes up or anything, but it’s definitely exciting! Anyone have any idea how many semi-finalists they choose every year? </p>

<p>If you have not heard anything back today, do not worry, there will be more notifications tomorrow and the day after and the day after and so on! The Facebook groups are really supportive and informative as well so if you have a fb, join the groups! </p>

<p>Hey Everyone, congrats on your semifinalist status! I just checked my email and saw it, and I was ecstatic! Now , I’m just afraid for the final cut. Does anybody know what the chances are for a semifinalist to become a finalist? I saw this link for a document that said the China Summer program (which is my first choice) admits 200 finalists. How many semifinalists are there?</p>
<p>So I did some math combined with some stats. Here goes
3500 apply(and turn in their applications)
1400 go semifinalist- that’s 40 percent.
650ish go finalists- that 45% of semis. </p>
