@naturelover333 i’m a senior applying for all academic years! 1. Arabic Academic 2. Turkey Academic 3. India Academic. My only worry is that I may not be able to defer all of my scholarships…
@naturelover333 @writeallnight I’m senior applying for all academic years as well! Korean, Russian and then Hindi is my preference order.
@EmmaPotts The waiting and explaining over and over again is exhausting! I’m thinking notifications can come out as early as March too, considering how quickly the semi notifications came out!
@katewithak Do you happen to speak German, or are you hoping to learn? I just started a new semester of it, and I’m almost suffering from language overload! (I have three language classes in a row)
I’m really really rusty in german(I took a year in like 5th grade!) But I feel the language class thing- I have French, Spanish and English right in a row! Combine that with self studying Arabic and Portuguese, and my brains spins every day, but I love it! What languages? @screenname16
@katewithak I go from German to English Lit and then to Spanish Lit on A days (I get a language break on B days!)
I wasn’t able to cram Japanese into my schedule this year (and my teacher guilt trips me about it whenever he can), but I self-study to try to maintain it.
And last but not least, I’m studying a bit of Korean to prep for if I get selected
How in the world do you manage French, Spanish, AND Portuguese? The Romance languages are way too similar to me! I would get them all sorts of mixed up
I’m so jealous you have german! My school only offers Spanish and French, and the only way I could take both was if I got up an hour early to take a zero-hour class!
Everyone it’s FEBRUARY FIRST. This is the month everyone is predicting the notifications might start! Okay, this forum is pretty great, but definitely a bit slow. Time to get pumped semis~~place your predictions on when we’ll be receiving our notifications!! I say mid to late Feb
(Choices: China Summer, Russia Summer, Any!!)
Why do you think they are going to come out so soon? I heard that it could take all the way to late April.
If I had to guess it would be in early March though.
Jon - China Summer!!
Early~Mid March!! But hopefully sooner haha
The semi notifications came out a month earlier!! So it’s a reasonable guess~!
@nsliyromanov That’s such an interesting flag! What does it represent? Also, is your last name Romanov, as in the Romanov dynasty in Russia?
Pretty sure I won’t get NSLI-Y, but super pumped for CBYX!
Yep Романов! And the flag usually has the officially crest of the Romanov family but anyway I’m really hopeful for everyone in this forum!
I would love for the notifications to come out this month but I highly doubt it will be this early. My dad called me this morning to tell me that it was Feb 1st and that notifications were probably going to be sent out this month. It was funny to see he was thinking about it as much as I was. I feel like the notifications will come out around early to mid March for summer and mid March to late March for all the year applicants.
Don’t be pessimistic!! >_<
I was told by my friend who took apart in Russian summer that last year he was told early February
Okay, this reject likes to show up once and awhile to say hi…But what I’ve heard from alumni is that it’s unlikely that notifications will start until early March…but the good news is that February is the shorter month of the year to have to wait through!! Haha. Good luck everyone - try to distract yourselves. Or use your free time to make a really artistic countdown (which is what I’m about to do for YES Abroad…)
Also, @nsliyromanov, I am a huge fan of your name and avatar. I’m in AP Euro and have developed a newfound obsession with the Romanov family…I read books about the Romanovs for five hours in a bookstore a few weeks ago…Maybe I’ll apply for Russian next year, haha.
CBYX Semi here!!!
@Schnuff3
Yes haha I saw your post on facebook! Congrats Em~
To all of the seniors, what are you college plans? Where have you been applying or been accepted? I’m always curious about where people will end up!
Thank god it isn’t a leap year. Hopefully one more month to go until we find out!
@reecie569 I’m a senior and I’ve already decided on college. I’m going to college in Florida for two years and then France for the last two and I will get a degree from both. So excited!
