I’m from Austin. I’m also a homeschooler, and my mom and I are theorizing that maybe they’re sending out notifications based on schooling categories.
@Camicita OMG that’s actually really cool! I was homeschooled for 6 years and now I go to an all-girls school! When do you think they would release notifs for private schools?
It’s just a hypothesis, I don’t really know. I don’t think they’re doing any countries before others, because I’ve now heard that someone got accepted to Tajiki and someone else is a Hindi alternate.
As far as schooling categories go, it’s anyone’s guess.
Also, to everyone still waiting, it’s important to remember that they aren’t able to send all the notifications out at once. They’ll be coming in all day and over the next few weeks as well.
There are also dozens of slots open for every country, so don’t panic if you haven’t heard yet. I only know of one other person who is a definite finalist.
Anyone know the chances of becoming a finalist if you’re an alternate?

Btw I applied for China summer as my first choice! Thanks to everyone who are notifying us of your notifications! Don’t forget to include your home state and language!

Congrats guys, what countries have heard? I realize not all notifications are out yet (not even close), but if all the summer come out around the same time this year, I bet year will come out sooner!
